Restaurant Ordering App
A branded food-ordering app with live order tracking, online payments, loyalty rewards, and kitchen integration.
The Challenge
A restaurant chain was losing margin to third-party delivery apps and wanted to own its customer relationship.
Our Solution
We delivered a cross-platform ordering app plus a kitchen dashboard, cutting commission costs and boosting repeat orders with loyalty rewards.
How we approach this kind of build
The commercial case for a branded ordering app is straightforward — aggregator commission is a permanent margin deduction, and the customer relationship belongs to the aggregator rather than the restaurant. The product problem is that the aggregator experience is genuinely good, so a branded app has to at least match it on ordering speed and tracking clarity.
Menu modelling is deceptively hard: modifiers, combos, per-branch availability, time-restricted items, and out-of-stock handling all have to work without a staff member editing a spreadsheet. Availability changes propagate live, so a customer never completes an order for something the kitchen cannot make.
The kitchen display is designed for a hot, busy environment — large touch targets, high contrast, no fine-grained gestures, and audible alerts for new orders. Orders are queued locally so a brief connectivity drop does not stall the kitchen, and loyalty is applied at checkout rather than requiring a separate scan step.
